Krawic
Cityscape
In the south of Krawic live farmers who also have their fields within the walls. This is the Poldom. In the west of it is the Baskam, a volcanic boulder from the Sizny, which has a castle built inside of it. This castle is very hard to spot from the south and west side. The boulder has many arrowslits that are covered from the inside with painted cloth. Every arrowslit is built on a different hight. These are connected by three seperate hallways. They connect to the main hall. It is the ceremonial hall and the training hall of Krawic. To this hall are many hallways and staircases which head other rooms of the castle like the armory or the canteen. On top of the Baskam are drainage grooves to channal the water into a collector system at the bottom of the stone. These collector not only use the collected rain water from Baskam, but also store the water from the houses in the city. For that a huge drainage system is spread throughout the streets of the city.
Adjacent to the collectors are tenements. Further north the houses are build by wealthy families in the city. These houses are segmented into north, south and central Nasdom. Through the Nasdom runs the second part of the trade route Gvichsoza which is called Syznoza. East from the Nasdom and north from Poldom is Promydom, the industrial area of the town. The the stone pocessing and the industry from Kravic is located there. North of it is the huge quarry, Bastourat. It is not protected by the wall and seems like a weak point for the defenses of the city. The reality it is, that it is the best defended point and there are many defensive plans that use the quarry.
Big and strong walls connect the north part of Baskam with the west part of the Bastourat and east part of the Baskam with the east part of the Bastourat.
History
The Syznipol Barony | 250 av
The first evidence of the village Krawic is from a book written in time of the empire Cohrmas. It tells a story of the first Slaughter of Krawic and the capture of the Syznipol Barony. That book suggest, that Krawic was the capital of the Syznipol Barony and probably a well developed town. The town was captured and almost completely burned down. It was very quickly rebuild with resources of the new established empire Cohrmas.Empire Cohrmas | after 250 av
In the Empire Cohrmas it was most of the time only an important village on the route to Prynyst. It also was a small provider of rocks. This was it for many years. In the years around 400 av the decline of the stone production in Rajdova Velky indicades that in Krawic the production had to increase. This is also the time where the castle Baskam was built into the Boulder. It was mainly built to prevent another catastrophy like the first slaughter of Krawic. The next important part of Krawic history is the wandering village Vyz. In the winter some stone cutter decided to get stones much closer from the Syzni. The location of Vys changed in the first centuries a lot. In that time Krawic had built their wall which got the nickname Krevstena.
Ostrune | 900 av
In Ostrune the city got much more important. With the fall of the empire trade with the different Isles got much harder and this had rose the prices for volcanic rocks produced outside of Ostrune. With that the production was further expanded. With that Vys also got more people that worked in the winter. In the year 1120 the Syzni erupted with a never seen force. The small village Vys was destroyed and in Krawic many buildings were heavily damaged. Because of that some people helped to rebuild Vys, but many people were needed to repair the damaged buildings in Krawic.
Wartimes | 1253
After the capture of Rajdova Velky the state Ostrune united with the cohrmasian isles and a new army was deployed and stationed in the city. With the war ending in a stalemate in the Pekctorins the a fenrien army was send through the Borlesda to move around the frontline and capture cities behind enemy lines. That resulted in the the second Slaughter of Krawic. This time however the fenrien army lost and almost completly destoyed. After that the military command and a section of the Royal Armory was stationed in Krawic. The first reason is the safety and the second is the geographic distants to Vys which has the biggest Royal Armory production site.
