Rajdova Velky

Geographics

Rajdova Velky is located in the south of Ostrunic at the end of the Gvichnot. It is saved from storm tides by the Explorers Shore. It is also the start of the Ostrunic-wide trade route Gvichsoza.

Cityscape

The city is made up of six districts. The oldest is the Harbour district. It is the district on the shores with the harbour and the fish and trade market in it. Then there is the Inner Circle. This is the old fortress and the last defenses of Rajdova Velky. This is the place of the old emperor's palace and the townhall. It is also where the elite and political figures live. The Gvichnot district divides the city into two parts and goes alongside the river. There are many warehouses or fisher huts with landing stages to transport wares up the river or it is just a place to anchor the fisher boat. The outer Gradens is the district where most of the Caplings live. It is the northwest part of the city. The northeast district is North Rajdova. This is the place for the army barracks of the fenriens which use the houses of Cohrmasians and the place for the mayor, city council and the Government of the Occupied Lands. Between the Garden District and North Rajdova is the university. The newest district is South Rajdova. Many Cohrmasians live there with worse infrastructure and buildings than in other parts of the town.

History

to 245 av

Rajdova Velky is a very old town. It was a big fishing village with a well known shipyard. Legends tell that the ship for the long voyage was built in this town. The village was also a place for a lot of caplings, but this information is from hints by old stories or books.

The Empire Cohrmas | 245 av to 900 av

In the early years of the old empire Cohrmas the city grew. With the high demand for military ships the shipyard flourished. This gave Rajdova Velky the resources to further increase their production of trade goods. It became a big exporter of raw resources like wood or stone.
But in the years around 400 the production was reduced. This happened due to other growing villages like Krawic which overtook them with better volcanic rocks. This was a big hit for the town but the shipyard stayed successful. The town still shrank at that time.
Around 450 av the newborn shrine of the old watcher in Rajdova Velky was the first place for science. It started to write historical books and store books in the first archive of Cohrmas and it gave philosophers and scientists the opportunity to work.
In the year 536 the Empire Cohrmas moved their capital to Rajdova Velky while also changing the religion officially to the old watcher. With that the empire gave way for science. The university of Rajdova Velky was chosen for the organization of a nationwide learn system. In the year 570 the university was commissioned by the empire to write a book about the current empire and the past.
The years from 600 av to 950 av about the city is not much known due to a fire in the section. But it must be assumed that nothing extraordinary happened in the city in this timespan.

The Island states | 900 av to 1248 av

In the years 900 av is not much known about that city, but Rajdova Velky was the capital of the island state Ostrune.
After 950 av the records can be deciphered again and they suggest that the empire needed many ships. The shipyard is very big and a big part works in the docks. The university of Rajdova Velky also grew and holds a place for a lot of people.
The new island state allowed people again to build ships that could survive the rough waves of the oceans. The first fenrien ship found the city after a huge eruption of the Sizny Crater. In 1123 Fenria was discovered by ostrunic explorers and trade began. After that trade was slowed with the new continent because of a great war the city changed their focus again to science and discovery. This is resulted in the discovery in the barren continent of Ideun.
In the year 1248 fishers of the city saw a huge invasion fleet emerge from the mist and sailing in their direction. They landed on the explorers shore and after a huge battle captured the city of Rajdova Velky. In the battle parts of the university burned but only through a miracle the parts from 600 av to 950 av were burned and lost.

Occupation | 1253 to present

Rajdova Velky was used by the fenriens as the capital for the occupied lands. Every following week new soldiers arrived and marched north on the Gvichsoza. The city mostly grew from immigrants from Fenria and caplings, who travel often to Fenria after their childhood. This changed the appearance of the city. The new occupants brought new technologies and new ideals into the city.
Now is Rajdova Velky the biggest City of Cohrmas but the only major one under the Fenriens control. Also the Occupants don't like the underground state and free minds of the Caplings, which they try to prohibit that.

Population

The population of Rajdova Velky has a capling majority with a share of around 30%. 20% of the population is from Fenria and the other 50% are from Cohrmas.

Religion

The old watcher has a long tradition in the city and the shrine operate the university. Most of the students and professor worship the old watcher. The fishers of the city worship the great lionfish. They are the minority and have in the city only some small shrines. Other religions that are present in Rajdova Velky are religions from Fenria.

Politics

As the capital of the occupied state it has multible function. The first is for the organisation of the fenrien military. This sits in the inner circle of the city. The second is the city council and the goverment of the occupied land. This also sit in the outer east close to the military barracks.
