Shadow Sessions 9-10
General Summary
25th of Early Hollow, 1758
The sound of an out of tune violin scratches your ears as it comes from some decrepit person creeping along the forests. It sings a foul tune:

Our Dreaded Host has a dreaded realm,But it seems some folks got overwhelmed,
So it said to me you’re gonna catch’em,
l seys today’s the day to cause mayhem!
So here I am out on the hunt,
Not gonna lie I’ve got to be real blunt,
Yer in real trouble if I catch you in the field,
Because if I do I’m gonna have you peeled!

After surviving an arduous battle with the Hapless Joke, the party returned to Surrive. The guards were shocked to see the state of the party and were told that undead had attacked.
26th of Early Hollow, 1758
The party returned to the main area of the Bloated Tankard Inn and came across Inspector Voclain. He had a proposition for them, as he wanted the party to investigate the matter involving the exiled nivallen of the Kniferose Tribe. In order to find them, he knows that they ought to follow the dying trees. As a reward for resolving the matter, he offers the party 750 florens. A bonus 125 bonus would be added if they retrieved an intact undead creature for Savatier to study.
The party followed the trail, leading to a rotting and mangled grove. After snooping around, they found Kasner’s old friend, Sariel, a nivallen who was being questioned and nearly attacked had the party not intervened.
Deeper inside, the party found Nelvkar. Carcass tried to convince him of a new perspective on death but such words fell on deaf ears on the one who’s tongue was tied by the dark presence. After clashing as a last result, a wretched beast of the Abyss was summoned but thwarted once its connection to the ritual site was destroyed. Nelvkar and the grove was then made free.
Returning to Surrive, Sariel joined the party as a sidekick. They then reached Savatier’s estate, retrieving their reward and bonus. When Savatier was informed about the matter, he was uneasy. After the meeting, Voclain advised the party that they ought to dig further into what could be going on. Carcass even stayed behind in his wild shape to see if Savatier and his attending mage mentioned anything. Sure enough, it was a matter if Il Reggente, leader of the S.N.O., was right.
