Man Who Looks Like Scarlett

First of all, who is Scarlett anyway?

First of all, who is Scarlett anyway? Scarlett’s path towards fame started many years ago, when she first started appearing in media as a mysterious, yet fabulous new friend of Tim, who already had a pretty successful career in fashion. The more she started appearing with Tim, the more curious people grew about her. Who was she? A friend? Something more? Maybe a new rising star? Was she to become a model, a fashion designer, or something completely different? It was before long, when the public got their answer. She appeared as the main star for the movie Lord of the Fairies that made her the new up and coming celebrity. She and the director of Lord of the Fairies Peter soon became two of the most talked about young celebrities, and they had to keep up the hype. They soon created another movie together - Trans-Formers. After that, the only way was up for them. They later collaborated on many other movies, and Scarlett soon became one of the most successful young celebrities of our time.

This, of course, attracted many young girls, and also boys, to become just like her. They all wanted the same clothes, makeup and hair as her, and they all wanted the same success as she had. Or at least their own 5 minutes of fame. And they got those 5 minutes of fame with what we now know as “Man Who Looks Like Scarlett” contest.

Beginnings

These shows started simple, as local events in Central and some other areas of Å+*4~, where young men and women would dress up as Scarlett, and play out a scene from one of her movies, show off their outfits, or maybe sing a song. These weren’t yet contests, but just a fun evening where everyone got one or the other participation prize. These were something like a coupon for a free drink at the Town Square, some or the other thing from a makeup store or merchandise from one of Scarlett’s movies. As time went on, the popularity of these contests grew. They became especially popular among young boys who drew much inspiration for their styles and appearances from Scarlett. That comes as no surprise since Scarlett got picked as the most attractive celebrity of 2006.

The shows started becoming more elaborate each year and started turning into contests in certain areas. As these started becoming bigger and more expensive, towns realized it would be more cost efficient to join forces and make a show together. The contests were now fewer, but still hosted in more areas of Å+*4~.

Now that these events became contests, it became clear that men are for some reason a lot better at impersonating Scarlett than women. Though surely Scarlett is a true woman, it was always men that always looked ever so slightly more like her than women. With women so obviously always falling behind, they gradually got fed up and stopped participating in contests.

As this finally became a men only contest, it got its name that it’s now famous for - “Man Who Looks Like Scarlett”. By now, all of the organizers decided to put all of their effort and resources together to finally create the big yearly event that “Man Who Looks Like Scarlett” is today

Man Who Looks Like Scarlett Today

As of right now, the contest in this form is still fairly new, but even more popular than before. It really gained worldwide attention during the last two years, maybe because of the scandals related to them, but more on that later.

The contests up until 2006 took place at Central Town Square, and now the main prize wasn’t only makeup products and clothing, but also a Golden Bald Mermaid Award. This is a highly prestigious prize given out for only the highest achievements in different areas from sports, to art and even science.

The categories in which the contestants compete include things like making their own dress, dance, singing, acting out a scene from one of Scarlett’s movies, playing violin, drinking cocktails, and most importantly, trying to look as much as Scarlett as possible. The contest starts with up to 10 contestants, who audition beforehand and are picked out by a panel of judges. During the contest, after each category the contestants are judged again, and the worst one(s) get excluded for continuing in the contest. The contest continues until only one contestant is left, and that’s the winner. The winner was usually announced by the host of the show, but in the last year, the winner was chosen personally by Scarlet. These contests were hosted by Tammy until 2006, but the 2006 contest was hosted by Tim, and 2006 contest was hosted by Paloma Negra.

The Drama

Incident of 2006

Sure, drama is inevitable in such events, but they went without any major issues until 2006. This year the organizers really stepped up their game, and invited Tim to host the show. He has proven to be an excellent host, until the very end. It was when he announced that year's winner, Mysterious Miss M, when it turned out the whole contest was rigged. Mysterious Miss M was Tim’s close friend Andrej all along, and Tim supposedly helped him win.

The first to notice this was the other finalist, Paloma Negra, who reacted rather violently and attacked Tim. This caused Tim’s partner, Cereal Killer to get involved and threaten Paloma Negra with death. The situation was resolved by security, but raised quite a lot of dust and public outrage.

After this Paloma Negra sued Tim, Cereal Killer and Andrej for all that happened at the contest. The judgment resulted in a lot of finger pointing, shifting blame, and no one taking their own responsibility for what happened. Tim insisted to the end that while he did know that Mysterious Miss M was Andrej he did not help him win in any way, he did get to the end fair and square by being the best Scarett out of all contestants. Meanwhile Andrej admitted that he did join to win, but he thought there would be money. He technically didn’t break any rules by joining and competing alongside others, but it was only Tim’s fault for not telling him there was no money prize. Had Tim told him that, he wouldn’t have joined the contest to begin with and we wouldn’t be in this mess. Instead, the trio tried to pin all the blame on Paloma Negra for attacking Tim and thus forcing Cereal Killer to attack her.

Glitter God decided that while technically Andrej and Tim didn’t break any rules of the contest, it’s clear that they both knew what was up. Therefore the 1st place and the prizes of the contest were officially awarded to Paloma Negra, and Tim was sentenced to a week of plaid chamber for having a big part of stirring up all this trouble, while also being the host of the show.
Cereal Killer got away without punishment, Glitter God agreed that he was well within his rights to defend his Tim, but he’s also one of Glitter God’s fairies, so he can get away with stuff others wouldn’t.
Paloma Negra also didn’t suffer any punishment as she was well within her rights to defend the fairness of the contest and call out the scammy behavior of Tim and Andrej.

Incident of 2006

After the last incident, Scarlett decided to have Paloma Negra host the next show. She figured it would be safest to eliminate Tim and Andrej so they don’t stir up any more trouble at the next contest. But boy was she wrong.

Seeing how he was edged out by Paloma Negra, Tim was less than happy about the situation. After talking to Andrej, they came up with a plan where Tim would enter as a contestant instead, and claim this year's prize for himself, Andrej and Andrej’s girlfriend Jade. This way they would be compensated for all the trouble they have suffered last year. Tim was on board with this plan, it’s not too hard for Andrej to rope him into some or the other weird scam.

This year, the contest seemed to have been going well again, up until the end. Tim, disguised as Mysterious Miss T, was unnoticed and managed to make it into the final two, together with Unicorn Princess. It was when Scarlett herself was supposed to announce the winner, when she realized that Mysterious Miss T was Tim all along. She promptly outed him right then and there in front of the audience, and awarded the 1st place and the prizes to Unicorn Princess.

While this incident was quite shocking as well, especially to a few members of the audience who somehow weren’t aware that everyone in the contest was a man, it was resolved much more easily than last year’s. Tim, Scarlett and Andrej sorted out their problems in private, and Scarlett announced that Tim will host the next year’s show. Hopefully, Andrej won’t get involved again.
