Death is all around us
Wasteland is already known for its lawlessness, but there is a region even more remote and detached from normal society. On the far east of the continent of T@Ö#Ä3, just beyond the Graveyard, there is a region many people don’t really even know about. This is the region named Death is all around us. This region is far removed from normal society and is entirely populated by bat people. Here you’ll find the region’s capital Victorian Secret along with several other settlements.
Geography and Nature
Being a part of the Wasteland, this region is the same as many other regions here. It’s mostly a dead barren land with little to no life. It’s located right next to Haunted Forest, with dead trees and a high population of blackbirds. The region is one of the hottest in the world, mainly only getting light - or should I say darkness - of black sun. Even with some rays of gold sun coming through, this is considered to be the darkest part of the world. It’s one of the few regions that isn’t particularly affected by the rainy season.
Towns and People
The settlements here are small and cramped, built as a single maze-like building full of narrow streets and surrounded by thick stone walls. The only way in and out of this town is through its gates. Bigger settlements may have more gates, but smaller ones may only have one entrance. These towns are all built of dark stone with tall spiky roofs and small windows. They generally don’t use electricity, but they do have plumbing.
People here live by their own rules and aren't a part of normal society. They have this weird obsession with the ancient tales of vampires and they, as bat people, strongly relate to them. Nevermind that they are actually fruit bats who only like to drink their fancy fruity drinks. They like to live as people of the distant past would. WIth no electricity they prefer activities such as reading, writing, painting, different crafts, playing musical instruments and performing theater plays.
Their interaction with the rest of the world is minimal. They do need to import a lot of supplies they need to survive and they export mostly black wood and products made from it, such as furniture. There is a community of bat people living in East T@Ö#Å3 that helps these settlements greatly, but in general bat people prefer to stay hidden and mysterious, letting the rest of the world believe that they are real vampires.
With them being so far removed from the rest of the society, they don’t follow the same rules and religion as the rest of the world. Without any fairies, there aren't any Glitter God’s followers here either. They are more prone to become Satan’s priests and follow him, but many choose to worship the black sun itself - or Blung Sun, as it is called in this region’s dialect. Black Sun festival is the most popular and celebrated festival here.
