High Regent Tasiya Ohrono Demetres (a.k.a. Tasi)
28 year-old High Regent of Grasmere. She was promoted to High Regent by Fabiola Auguste just before Ounghui c2392. Auguste believed the time would be right as she had spent years maneuvering to have everything at its calmest and most manageable. Then the Tsuran fleet of shipping liners sank off the northern coast of Grasmere Island. The prickly history between Grasmere and Tsura-Tsura has flared ever since, and Tasiya isn't sure she's ready to handle the crisis. What may be worse is the townsfolk of Grasmere don't think she's ready for it, either.

She is somewhat prejudiced against animalian Unafs: tabaxis, tortles, dragonkin, griff, harengon. They make her uncomfortable and she tends to view them as somewhat pet- or child-like. Her prejudice is less pronounced with gnomes and halflings (perhaps because they appear more "Towerish"), and she has been well educated to hide it as well as possible, but in mixed company she will default to addressing Tower races.

Nev was "gifted" to Tasiya's family when she was a newborn kit. As children, Nev and Tasiya were inseperable, but as Tasiya was selected to serve in the Grasmere Keep and began treating Nev as more of a servant than a friend, Nev grew frustrated. They have never had a legitimate fight, and Nev was genuinely honored to join the Keep Guard and earn the title of Baronguard. But a tension runs beneath the surface and Nev values the few moments she is granted to herself.
