Han Vahlen (Hœn Vay-lin)
Region Consul Hannelin Hagar Vahlen, II (a.k.a. Han)
A Region Consul in the Pillarhand diplomacy faction serving the Odari region. Married to Eli (nee Illsley) at age 36 (c2354). Sunfather to Silvain at age 37 (c2355) and Olivia at age 40 (c2358). Shortly after Olivia's birth, her moonfather Eli divorced Han and left New Jaarnard abruptly. Eleven years later, Olivia disappeared during a committee trip to Keep: Reyennnenora (c2369) when Han was an Emissary.
Grief-stricken Han, who had been on the fast track in the Pillarhand, struggled to regain his focus after Olivia's disappearance. After a series of very public missteps and breakdowns, in c2370 he was re-assigned as Ambassador of Otharia serving in Grasmere. However, en route to Grasmere, The Vahlens's ship hit bad weather and was forced to dock in Kighdun, north of Grasmere Island.
There, Han was able to appeal to the Tolosau Pillarhand and was allowed to serve on the Dighdural committee for several years until again scandal and tragedy struck.
At age 55 he moonfathered another daughter, a dorukan named Petroula (c2373) out of wedlock with a dwarven woman named Cecily Wheelwright (Petroula's sunmother). Fearful of being expectant without a spouse on the Pillarhand committee after having just begun to re-establish himself, Han fled back to Odari in c2374 and found himself drawn again to Reyennenora, hoping to hear or discover more about what may have happened to Olivia. While no new leads were forthcoming, Han began working in a small elvish accounting firm and tried to focus on his remaining children (Silvain, then 19 and Petroula, then 1).
Han remarried in c2377 to a young elf woman named Tyrael Pastara when Han was 59. Tyrael and Han had another child that same year, an evisten named Adalath. Silvain, now 22 and increasingly disgruntled with his father whom he blamed for Olivia's death (Han has steadfastly refused to believe Olivia perished, one of many sources of contention between him and his son), left Reyennenora and headed north toward Spirelake.
The Vahlens have a modest home in Reyennenora.
