Keep: New Jaarnard (Jarn-erd)

North of Covenrose Wood, in the tiny province of Otharia, the port keep of New Jaarnard is a central trading and shipping outpost, with the famed Seven-Mile Waterfront and its brightly-colored warehouses along the extensive dock. Despite the cheerful pigmentation, though, New Jaarnard is a dangerous place for the unawares. Shipping captains generally use contracted crews (aside from a few trusted mates, engineers, or bosuns) and often prefer to run with light coverage to increase profits, which means unemployment is high in New Jaarnard. A high number of alehouses, Unaf brothels, and casinos in Seven-Mile contribute to a seedy air. Whether because of these factors or at the root of them, Fedoris's thieves' organization—The Veiled Guild—is widely known to operate out of this keep.
