The Brovian Imperium
While Brovia technically remains a singular kingdom, the alliances it has made over the course of a century have caused the general outlook that it is the commanding heartland territory of the Brovian Imperium, run from its capital of Volitsbourg. As such, the information of Brovia is often actually about the Imperium as a whole. That said, the Imperium as it stands today has grown into one of the strongest powers in the world, resulting from centuries of political maneuvering, assimilation and conquest. It is one of the major factions in the raging Great War.

Demography and Population
With a population of nearly 40 million, the expansive reach of the Brovian Imperium encompasses multiple races. While the bulk of the population is made up of Humans, Dragonborn also make up a sizable portion of the demographics, followed by lesser numbers of Bearfolk, Elves, Dwarves, Tieflings, Tabaxi and others.

Technological Level
Historically, the Dragonborn of the Emirate are a highly industrious people. Their knack for metallurgy, combined with a bit of Gnomish and Dwarven engineering has advanced the Imperium's goals by creating new alloys and applications for them, both peaceful and military. The advent of steam power and lightweight steel has allowed for self-propelled vehicles like steamships, ironclads, tanks, and locomotives. Vehicles of the Imperium are considered cutting edge, leaving the nations of the Confederacy to attempt copying by observation or reverse engineering from scraps they can obtain.
Stronger metal and increased mobility have also made for more potent artillery and firearms. Range and destructive capability gave the Imperium an early edge in the Great War until Confederate troops made pushes to capture shipments of weapons. Within months both sides were on par in regards to artillery, leading to a more attrition-based stalemate on the main fronts.
Outside of combat, the Imperium also boasts advancements in many areas of ordinary life. Interior plumbing, especially, has been a growing convenience. With increasing frequency cities boast plumbing and sewer systems capable of servicing even common citizens. Similarly, gas lighting in cities is becoming common. In places where natural gas is scarce, petroleum and whale oil are utilized instead.

Roads, Bridges and Rails
Within Brovia itself there is an extensive network of roads, the majority of which are metalled or cobbled. It is only in the most unruly terrain or farthest reaches of the frontier lands that the roads falter in quality. Nevertheless, even mere dirt roads are maintained by engineers to keep travel going. Bridges are also maintained in similar faction. The modernizing movement pushed by Marden the Great during his reign means that more three quarters of the bridges in use within their borders are made of stone or occasionally even metal. Foundry work for the metal in bridges has also been applied to a growing network of railroads. The majority of lines in central Brovia run towards the war front in Darellon, carrying troops, ordinance, and other freight, but commercial application is growing more common as steam engines become more efficient.Water Engineering
Mountain springs and aquifers serve the water needs of many populated areas where river water is scarce or suspect. Linked aqueducts ensure that cities especially are well-supplied. Sewage within cities is also handled by underground networks of pipes that release waste into the sea, in more coastal areas, or feed into cesspools/sumps.We rise and overcome.
