Song Magic seems on the surface to be the weakest of the three forms of Spellcasting (Pact Magic, Guild Magic and Song Magic), but due to their ability to keep casting the same spell repeatedly without expending more energy (PP) Song Mages are capable of some of the most impressive feats of Spirit Manipulation...even if it might take them a few minutes to do it.
This class combines well with the Skill Monkey, and reasonably well with many of the combat classes, but can also be used mostly on its own.

Choosing your performance type is fairly important for this class, since it defines what other class options you may potentially be able to use. Dance works well for combat oriented Characters. Vocal performances work well for combat or buff focused characters. Instrumental performers work well primarily as casters, and the Instruments they use can function effectively as their "weapon".
