Artificer
Requirements- Spirit Scripter or Spirit Shunned feat, Focused Skill (Craft)
You are granted the Animate Object, Grant Ability, Change Matter and Matter State and Add Sentience spells, but unless gained through other means they may only be used in the process of building a magical device or object. You may also use the Permanent Spell metamagic without the Technical Spell Modification feat under these circumstances. If you already have these spells you may choose 3 new ones that are within 2 CL.
If you do not have the ability to cast spells you may take the Spellcaster or Learn Spells feats to gain more "spells" to use with this ability, including Dwarf Mage and Twin Mage Powers (for example the ability Metal Flight would be considered seperate from Iron and Lead).
Normally these devices are crafted with the Enchanting skill, but if you have the Spirit Shunned feat you may instead choose to use a different (somewhat realistic) Craft skill, such as clockwork or woodwork.
You may choose to treat the devices constructed through these means as purely mechanical objects, and the Add Sentience spell as merely a well made machine. Examples of this is an auto-loading device that has the Grant Feat spell cast 3 times for Rapid Reload and the Change Matter Spell used to grant Focused Skill in Firearms skill, all cast with Permanent Spell metamagic.
To calculate the DC to Enchant or Craft...
Take total PP cost to create the item -11 (minimum 0) +15 +Spell CL Requirement
To calculate the cost to create the device (Frags)...
Take total PP cost to create the item -11 (minimum 0) +Spell CL Requirement
If using this feat through the Spirit-Shunned ability, you may take the Spell Modification and Technical Spell Modification feats, but when making a device the metamagic must be applied to the device upon creation. If the player wishes to have the metamagic apply different results (ie: have it cover larger or smaller AoE) with each use, the Craft DC increases by 10.
