Phandalin
A small but growing mining town Just north of the Sword Mountain Range about halfway between Leilon and Conyberry.
Government
Harbin Wester - Mayor/Magistrate
Defences
A small gaurd paid for by the Miner's Exchange who almost exclusively patrol the Miner's Camp.
Industry & Trade
Most of the trade in town is handled through the Miner's Exchange. Inhabitants of the Miner's Camp are mostly short term miners harvesting as much precious metal and gemstones they can find. Occasionally they come across ancient artifacts but there is very little value for those types of things in Phandalin. There are several other businesses in town including an inn, provisioners, and a tavern. Taxes are high for these shops and go towards maintaining the roads and community wells.
Infrastructure
Hard packed dirt roads are well kept inside town proper but the road becomes narrow, muddy, with deep potholes as you move north towards the Miner's Camp. A shrine to Tymora sits near the middle of town in a lovely town green.
Assets
Town assests are managed by Harbin Wester. There are no stored supplies so to speak other than what is stored at the Miner's Exchange.
History
Miner's began showing up in the area south of Phandalin in 1483. The mountains to the south hold a wide variety of precious metals and gems. With all the money to be made, miner's began sending for their families. Along with them came somewhat skilled craftsment who set up small wooden stalls in the camps. In 1484, the Shrine of Luck was erected north of the camps in a bright green meadow. Town was officially founded in 1485 when the Barten Givens opened the first permanent shop. The Costers came soon after and within another year, The Miner's Exchange was established.
As town continues to grow, Phandalin has seen an influx of hunters, mercenaries, and adventurers.
Architecture
Mostly modest wooden structures. There are a couple nicer homes in town utilizing stone, such as Harbin Wester's and Sister Linan Garelle's. Stonehill Inn & Costers' have both invested in sturdy white bricks from nearby Conyberry. The Miner's Exchange is built from dark grey stone and resembles a very small keep.
Geography
Mostly grassland with rolling hills.
Natural Resources
Well water is abundant. The surrounding open grasslands offer space for farming and a neverending supply of small game. Neverwinter Forest is only a days travel for the opportunity for larger hunting.
