Kairo Emberfield
Kairo Emberfield is a female tiefling adventurer and paladin. Her grandfather was a Tethyrian merchant who made a deal with the archduchess of Avernus, Zariel. It is due to this deal that Kairo was born a tiefling in 1470 DR. Later in her life, she joined the Order of the Companion in Elturel, training to become a paladin.
In 1494 DR, Kairo was a member of a group of adventurers that ventured into Avernus, the first layer of the Nine Hells, in order to rescue the city of Elturel. She was present for the redemption of Zariel, helping to convince her to renounce her position as an archdevil.

Kairo was born in Darromar in the Kingdom of Tethyr. The first thing her father noticed upon her birth was the small bumps on her forehead and hooves where her feet would be. Both parents were shocked, and they demanded answers. Kairo's grandfather gave them the truth. He announced that he had made a deal with the archdevil Zariel to provide wealth for his buisiness. In exchange, he forfeit his soul and ensured the next birth in his family would be a tiefling.
