Elturel

Elturel is a major city in the Western Heartlands and the capital of the paladin-state of Elturgard. Notably, a giant orb of light radiated from above the city: the Companion, which was visible from dozens of miles in all directions. The city hosts a number of important organisations, such as the Hellriders, the Order of the Companion, and several members of the Order of the Gauntlet. In 1494 DR, the city was dragged into Avernus by the archdevil Zariel, in conjunction with High Overseer Thavius Kreeg. However, it was returned to Faerûn following the redemption of Zariel shortly thereafter.
