Durnan
The proprietor and founder of The Yawning Portal Inn as well as a retired adventurer and lord of Waterdeep. He funded the construction of the Inn with treasure he collected from Undermountain to act as a aid for other adventurers. He runs the inn with his wife Mhaere Dryndilstann and daughter Tamsil Dryndilstann.
He is a gruff man of frank disposition who runs his inn with a iron fist. Any rule braking, save by a few select people, is met with immediate expulsion form the Yawning Portal; hopefully not down the portal. He is still friendly and talkative to guests acting as the friendly bartender you can talk to. This also comes with the perk of gathering juicy information. Don´t ask for any of it though he is not a broker of secrets.
He has a interesting relationship with the Mad Mage of Undermountain. Ostensibly they are friends, and Halaster seems to think so. But Durnan is weary of Halaster due to knowing how powerful and destructive he can be. Halaster has not noticed this hesitance in the slightest treating Durnan as a old friend.
