Shimmer

One of the four Armaments of Accord, Shimmer is the sword that the dwarves gifted to the elves.
From the bottom of the pommel to the tip of its gently recurved blade Shimmer was formed from a single, clear, crystal through processes long lost. Like typical deulame construction of the time this weapon is double edged with no guard and was intended to be used by only the most skilled fighters.
A square, white jewel is set into the hilt and houses a fire that continually roils in its depths. A wielder of sufficient skill and focus is able to call the fire forth so that the blade is ignited in white flames. The greater the will of the wielder the larger the flames will grow. The greatest elven hero to wield Shimmer was able to command a flame as tall as he was and carve burning swaths through his enemies.
With its dwarven aesthetic, the backwards curved handle provides a strange contrast to the elven. Straight lined, geometric patterns carve their way around the square jewel, along the handle to an elongated, multi-sided pommel.
Shimmer is imbued with enchantments that prevent it from breaking or loosing its edge. This weapon is also able to cut through any spell as easily as paper making it a particularly potent weapon against magic users.
