Culture and Cultural Heritage
-Women are the crafters and the brains behind trade networks. The women are generally far more capable at making finely wrought items than the men. This is largely due to their greater capacity for patience.
-When a trade party leaves a dwarven stronghold there is always a woman in charge of negotiations.
-Men are the prospectors, miners and adventurers. They are also able to make things but are less prone to life at an anvil. They are good at making basic things very quickly though and will often step up when a large amount of items are required or a great project is undertaken.
-This is largely due to the prevalence of male children and, therefore, the desire to protect their few females.
-Due to the above men have more practice in fighting but the women are expected to train for combat as well.
-Each stronghold is made up of a number of different families, or clans. Each clan sends one male and one female member, called a thane, to the council. The thanes are selected based upon bloodlines (the designated child of the previous thane).
-The chief is whatever female thane the council votes into power. Each chief stays in power for the rest of her life.
