The Elder Cyclopes

The Elder Cyclopes are a group of three monstrous giants of enormous size, each with a single eye set in the middle of their foreheads. They were named Arges, Brontes and Steropes.   The Elder Cyclopes were known for being very bright and great crafters, they are responsible for forging many of the Gods' prized artefacts, like the Thunderbolt of Zeus, the Trident of Poseidon and the Helm of Hades. Because of this they were granted access to divine forge, where along with Hephaestus, they craft arms for the legions of the heavens.   The Elder Cyclopes were created by their mother Gaia as part of her plot to usurp the Gods. But that never came to be as the Cyclopes were rejected by their mother, along with the Hecatoncheires, thought to be too weak. Instead they joined the side of the Gods during the Gigantonomy.   The Elder Cyclopes are the original ancestors of the Cyclops species, but unfortunately their offspring, do not share their brains nor their craftiness and insead follow their mother Gaia in her monstrous ways.
