The Hecatoncheires

The Hecatoncheires, or the Hundred-Handed Ones, are a group of three monstrous giants of enormous size and strength, each with fifty heads and one hundred arms. They are named Briareus, Cottus and Gyges.   The Hecatoncheires are best known for their ability to quickly dig through and build with earth and rock through use of their one hundred arms. They were also capable of throwing boulders at a supernatural rate; it is said that they could dismantle a mountain in minutes and at the same time stack a new one over an invading army.   The Hecatoncheires were created by their mother Gaia as part of her plot to usurp the Gods. But that never came to be as the Hecatoncheires were rejected by their mother, along with the Elder Cyclopes, thought to be too weak. Instead they joined the side of the Gods during the Gigantonomy.   After the Gigantonomy, the Hecatoncheires were assigned guard over the resting place of Gaia in the Elemental Plane of Earth, to assure that she does not wake from her slumber.

Appearance:

The Hecatoncheires appear as hairless, bipedal giants with earthen skin. They are far larger than your average giant, each of them have fifty heads and one hundred arms protruding out of every available space on their bodies.   Briareus, Cottus and Gyges are almost identical in appearance.
