Olympus

Olympus (Olympos) is one of the Divine Planes and the home of the Gods. The Palace of the Gods resides at the centre of the Plane, atop the tallest mountain, Mount Olympus.

Olympus is a beautiful and relatively peaceful realm, protected and traversed by the Gods themselves. It is said that the Goddess Artemis hunts, along with her band of hunters, within the vast woodlands of the Plane, and that sometimes the Gods wander in disguise, looking to reward the hospitable and punish the cruel.

Olympus is also home to numerous Fae Folk, like Nymphs, Satyr and Centaur, as well as the spirits of famed Demigods and legendary Mortals, divinely chosen to reside her by the Gods themselves.

Geography

Olympus is a beautiful natural environment, pastoral and idyllic, the Plane closest in appearance to the nature of Exorsia. There are vast woodlands of verdant trees, ravines and winding rivers, all teaming with life, from familiar plants and animals, to the otherworldly.

You can also find miles of large rural fields, dotted with rolling hills, grazing livestock, and the occasional tree and hedge for shade. The calm and peaceful waters of Oceanus laps lazily at the sandy shores, it's vast expanse dotted with colourful reefs and tranquil islands. The soft breeze wafting the salty air across the land. Groves of olives, fertile vineyards, and orchards of fruit trees, from citrus to figs, tended to by the inhabitants of the nearby colourful settlements, each centred around shrines of offerings to the Gods. Tall, snow tipped mountain ranges rise in clusters across the realm, the largest peak, located at the centre of the Plane, Mount Olympus, atop which resides the Palace of the Gods.

Unlike the majority of Planes, Olympus has a consistent day and night cycle, reminiscent of Exorsia's cycle. Day is warm and bright, with sparse clouds hanging within an azure blue sky, a soft light illuminating from the chariot of Helios, that crossed the sky from morning to evening. Night was cool, the sky a bluish-black, and dotted with the stars of the Astral Sea. It was not a dark night, as the soft, silvery glow of the chariot of Selene crossed the sky, illuminating the land until dawn.

But not all of Olympus is peaceful, as the foul moods of the Gods could cause the raging of terrible storms, and shaking earth, especially in times of war. The realm was also home to numerous terrible monsters, like Hydras and Manticores, which would bring trouble to the peaceful locals if not for the heroism of the great heroes that roamed the land, from famed Demigods, to the spirits of immortalised legends.
