Hyperion - Lord of Light

Hyperion is the God of Light and Fire. He is an aggressive and wrathful deity who is obsessed with his appearance.   Hyperion is the Twin of the Goddess Nyx, his polar opposite, who he has a tempestuous relationship with.   Hyperion presides over the domain of fire, from volcanoes to the Elemental Plane of Fire.   Hyperion was formerly a highly worshipped deity, associated with conquest and appeased with human sacrifice. But in modern times he is far less popular, and is commonly only worshipped to prevent wildfires and by specific cults. He is usually worshipped alongside his son Helios, who he shares similar domains with.   Domains: Day, Fire and Light.   Symbols: A Flaming Gauntlet, Lions, Phoenixes and Volcanoes.

Apperance

Hyperion is exclusively depicted as masculine, commonly a handsome and muscular middle aged figure with molten skin and fiery hair. He is usually depicted dressed in golden armour and is said to radiate with blinding light.

Holidays

Summer Solstice - 30th of Hechtos
At the summer solstice, the Sun travels the longest path through the sky, and that day therefore has the most daylight. It is also a religious day for the God of the Sun and the God of Fire, such as Helios and Hyperion. On this day the people of Exorsia celebrate and make libations to these Gods. The Sun Elves of Hepsut celebrate this day as Helioméra.   Helioméra - 30th of Hechtos
A traditional Sun Elf Holiday that is commonly celebrated in Hepsut. The Elven people practise ancient Elven rituals and performances from the days when the Sun Elves worshipped the sun god Helios. All in remembrance of the roots of the Elven People.
