Hobbits

Hobbits, sometimes called Halflings, are a species of small people that are descended from Humans. Hobbits are usually happy and easy going people, always seeing the good in things.   Hobbits tend to be incredibly lucky, this is due to a divine gift they received from their Divine Patron, the Goddess Tyche. It is unknown why Lady Luck favours the species so much.   Hobbits can commonly be found living in and around multicultural settlements, especially those with a large human population. Hobbits are very adaptable people, they tend to integrate themselves into whatever culture they find themselves in.   Outside of big cites many Hobbits live in small, idyllic pastoral communities. These Hobbits are usually quite laid back with little interest in extravagance, conflict or adventure. They enjoy food, socialising and relaxing, paying very little attention to the world outside. Members of the community who are energetic or dream of adventure are commonly labelled as disturbers of the peace.

Appearance:

Hobbits generally resemble tiny Humans, sometimes being mistaken for Human children. Hobbits usually have curly hair, large round ears and can rarely grow facial hair. They also have large, hairy feet with leathery soles which allow them to safely walk on difficult surfaces, doing away with a need for shoes.   Complexion: Hobbit skin tones are similar to Humans, ranging from a light pale complexion to a dark brown one.   Hair: Hobbit hair ranges from black, brown and blonde to ginger, commonly turning gray or white with age.   Eyes: Hobbits tend to have brown, blue or green coloured eyes.

Maturity:

Hobbits mature around the same rate as Humans do, reaching adulthood by the age of 20.

Reproduction:

Hobbits reproduce similarly to Humans. They have a gestation period of approximately 6 months.
