Amphitrite - Queen of the Sea
Amphitrite is the primary Consort of Poseidon and the Queen of the Sea. She is a gentle and calm figure, embodying the more gentle depiction of the sea in contrast to Poseidon's more destructive one.
Amphitrite assists Poseidon in his duty reigning over the Elemental Plane of Water. She is also sometimes worshipped alongside Poseidon even though she is not a deity.
Amphitrite was once a powerful Nereid, a Sea Nymph, before being courted by Poseidon and eventually being elevated to a Quasi-Deity so that they could rule the seas together.
Apperance
Amphitrite is exclusively depicted as feminine, commonly a middle aged figure with tanned skin, blue eyes, long blonde hair and is usually depicted crowned. Amphitrite is commonly depicted nude. Sometimes she is depicted with watery green skin and seaweed-like hair, like a Nereid, and other times she is depicted with blue skin, fins and a fish-like tail, resembling a Merfolk.
