Only by leaving our mortal emotions and husks behind can we grasp it. One has to be empty of everything, so one can fill oneself with everything. To be everything one has to be nothing. The perfections lies within this truth and one must strive to seek and find it. Of course one cannot ever completely find it for we all are broken and incomplete. But still one has to seek perfection. The measure of one's passing life is how close one can come to this perfection."

Structure

The Monastery of Empty Star is lead by council of elders, a five oldest living members of the order at any given time. The elders are responsible to bring all topics to public in the monastery, and they oversee the training of the younger monks as well as maintain the services that monastery offers. The council of elders does not rule the monastery, nor do they make decission about any topics concerning the monastery. It is just their duty to inform the other members of the monastery about these topic so a vote can be arranged.

Public Agenda

The aim of the monastery is to teach a willing creatures in the way of seeking the perfection and one's inner emptiness. In the beginning these principles were only tought to young githzerai born within the monastery, but little by little the monastery has also accepted outsiders to enlist.

History

The Monastery of Empty Star was originally a society of githzerai monks in the plane of Limbo. It is claimed by the records of the Monastery, that this society was one of the first githzerai societies founded after the separation of the githyanki and the gitzherai.
In the last days of year 573 of 12th Millenia according to Evernight calendar (though the records of monastery give totally different kind of date), the society faced with two different catastrophies simultaneously. First was a great magical storm that wrought havoc througout the plane of Limbo, and second was a githyanki raiding party sailing under the cover of that storm.
The githyanki raiders attacked the monastery and slew most of the githzerai before they could react accordingly. The few survivors gathered together and prepared to use their magical artifact to transport to a different lovation within the Limbo. However, the magical storm interacted with the device, and the monks found themselves from Evernight on the shores of Sea of Shadows. After this the githzerai have tried to plane shift back to their home plane of Limbo or even the other places they know and have visited, but something has every time disturbed their attempts, as if those place do not exist anymore.
After their arrival to the Evernight tha githzerai began to build their monastery anew to this new place. For sometime they lived in their home without disturbances, but at last a group of hungry and wounded adventurers found their way to monastery, and the monks helped them in their distress. As adventurers returned to their home, they began to tell the tale of mysterious and helpfull monks, and little by little the Monastery of Empty Star received more visitors.
In the end many were in awe of the teachings offered by the githzerai, and even the monks did not allow others to join their monastery, many gathered around the monastery seeking comfort and enlightment. A city started to form around the monastery and the philosphies of the monks were integrated to the adminstration of the city of Sundair. The monks were forst reluctant to this project, but as time went on they warmed to the idea and nowadays they are proud to say that Sundair began from their small society of refugees. The council of elders is highly respected in the city and even though they try to remain out of the politics of the city, their opinions are highly respected.
In year 891 of 12th Millenia the Monastery of Empty Star started to accept also others than just their own githzerai child as the acolytes of the monastery.
