Gurugada Greatwood
"The forest covers most of southern parts of Marghuin. So you just can't call it small, no matter what you think. It is literally the largest wood in Evernight. I'm not sure if you do this only to annoy me, but if so, then it is working. Do you really mean to say that you think it is a small forest? The trees there are much higher than anywhere in the world, and thousand secrets lie beneath their canopy. Okay, you really are just teasing me, right? Right?"

Geography
The Gurugada Greatwood is a large forest covering most of the land from Calacan Range all the way to river Shudour in the west. The forest is very varied from lush and green groves of the south to a bleak evergreen forest of shores of Sea of Shadows and lowest hills of Calacan Range. The landscape of the forest is suprisingly flat, with some hills in the east and in the western parts of the forest where trees give way to the cultivated fields owned by Disoen.
Despite its flatness, the landscape is very rocky, and sharp rock formation pertrude from ground in many places around the forest. Some claim that these strange rock formations were formed during the Great Cataclysm as the earth shook and trembled. Whatever the reason, these formations house large amounts of lightstones, and are thus giving a high natural lightning during the year. This light is what ensures that trees and plants can grow in the area, and it is the base foundation of the Gurugada Greatwood.
Fauna & Flora
Gurugada Greatwood is a home to numerous plants and animals. It is only known really larger area of continous forest growth in all of Evernight, and thus many species that are not seen everywhere else are living in the area.
The ecosystems vary greatly in different parts of the forest. The southern parts are a home to large oaks, ashes and elms as well as even cypresses and olive trees. The shores of Sea of Shadows and antehills of Calacan Range are filled with firs and spruces and other evergreen plants. Birch and large willows can be found from western parts of the forest near Disoen.
Natural Resources
Gurugada Greatwood is filled with easily harvestable lightstones due to rock formations found from all over the area. The collecting and manufacturing of these lightstones has greatly diminished nowadays because of ban of using manufactured lightstones in the area controlled by Tilhal. This has in its own way ensured that the lightstone reserves are not diminished too fast and the Gurugada Greatwood remains naturally lush environment for all species.
Greatwood is also source for most of the wood and lumber used in Marghuin and as export to Virghan by Darksbane corporation has increased, more and more wood from the forest can be found from all over the world. These lumbers are much stronger and larger than their competitors from other places.
The soil in the Gurugada Greatwood is ideal for plant growth as water, minerals and light are all offered in same place. This is why importance of the areas around and in the woods has increased as in food production. Especially Disoen has done great cuttings of tree to transfer the forest to farmland. Little by little Tilhal is also conducting these kind of transformations in the area ruled by them.
