Yang II, The Sword Empress
Yang II Skalxien
Yang Skalxien II was the Empress of Evermore from 1235-1252. She took the throne after the death of her father, Chen I, and gave it to her son Richard IV when she fell ill with an infection that eventually took both her legs. She was murdered by her granddaughters, the Twin Empresses, in 1276.
Though her reign was short, Yang II was popular with the commons for her insistence on fighting in gladiatorial arenas while she toured her Empire, famously being defeated and later marrying Gerald Talloaks of The Darkwood. The Bronzehold Belltower arena's entrance is marked by two titanic bronze statues of Empress Yang, their swords clashing to form an arch.
