Emperor Chen I Skalden Skalxien (a.k.a. The Boring King)

Emperor Chen I ruled the Empire from 1184-1235, from the abdication of his father Zhao V to his death of consumption. He married late in life, at the age of fifty two years old, and had a single trueborn child, Yang II, who he named for the legendary dragonrider Empress Yang I. Chen I is often referred to as "the boring king", as not a single event of historical significance occurred in his lifetime. Despite this, Chen remains a popular name among the cadet branches of House Skalxien.
