Valiant

Valiant is a dreadnought owned collectively by the Kingdom of Lancaster, and is the flagship of Lancaster's air fleet. It is one of the largest such ships in existence. While Valiant is powerful and swift for a ship of it's size, it is expensive to crew and to keep in the sky, so it is only deployed in emergencies. When not in use, Valiant rests on special struts on the back of Castle Silverlight, held over the Fairy's Canyon. It is now the common meeting place for the high lords of Lancaster.

Power Generation

Valiant is powered by fifty tidal engines, twenty lining each half of the primary flight deck and ten around the keep.

Propulsion

So many tidal engines are needed to move Valiant that it requires a dozen pilots with sympathetic orbs to steer the ship or move it forward. Massive sails are occasionally deployed when the wind is right to increase cruising speed.

Weapons & Armament

The battle deck is equipped with one thousand ballista, six hundred scorpions, two hundred and fifty spitfires, and a dozen arcane cannons.

Armor and defense

Most of the ship is made of stone, but vital areas are plated in flaseiron. Mithral cages protect the tidal engines. The rails of the ship can be electrified to repel invaders, and the watchtower itself is a traditional castle designed to withstand a siege.

Hangars & docked vessels

Valiant boasts multiple "horse decks" enchanted for sunlight and to grow nutritious grass. Two of these decks carry two hundred pegasusses. In the event of aerial battle, these winged horses are armored and the soldiers piloting them launch from the flight deck. In addition, the watchtower maintains two heated balloons, Adamant and Steadfast. Unlike normal balloons, these are lightly armored with falseiron and utilize propulsion rockets to move. The war balloons are deployed to attack smaller aeronautical vessels in Valiant's massive blind spots.
