The Cult of the Duchess

The worshippers of Attinae are monstrous, whether in appearance or their souls. Whereas most worshippers have a concrete goal in mind when they offer their devotion to a god, those of Attinae wish nothing more than overarching corruption, destruction, and defilement of all that is good. They are outsiders and rejects from civilized society, often from birth, and see existence as an endlessly swarming, roiling bath of blood and entrails, a constant churn of life rising and falling under the teeth of blades of those smarter, stronger, or luckier. They believe in the propagation of monsters, crossbreeds, and abominations, and the hot, vicious filth of life. They are the incarnations of poisoned fertility. If you choose Attinae as your god, you choose all of this. You reject the work of civilized races in favor of the intimate, brutal life of evil tribal humanoids such as gnolls, goblinoids, and those other, more terrible creatures that call Attinae their mother. If you exist within civilization, you worship her secretly, often out of resentment for the persecution of whatever physical differences or grotesque fetishes that drove you to the goddess. You seek neither peace, nor rest. Your life is about constantly working towards the the glorious day when your dread mother will open the gates of Abbadon, embracing the savagery of the new world order, and protecting mother’s children from the civilizations and barbarians that turn them away.
