Mobile Wizard's Tower

The Mobile Wizard's Tower, sometimes referred to as an MWT or Boomwalker, is an advanced hexapedal Strider produced exclusively by the Order of the Eye for sale to the Empire, which has an exclusive contract on the devices for a defined period of twelve hundred years. The machines are expensive, unwieldy, awkward, and damned effective mobile fortresses.   An MWT is a hexagon shaped tower thirty feet tall and ten feet across. It is held off the ground and propelled by six insectoid-shaped legs, which hold the rounded 'butt' of the towers twenty feet off the ground. The towers have autostabilizing gyroscopic platforms under each firing hole for a spellslinger to stand on, keeping balance as they rain evocations down upon the enemy. The towers make for popular targets, and as such are typically equipped with non-magical firing crews making use of classic ballistae, arcane cannons, and occasionally trebuchets.

Power Generation

The massive Coiled Engine that powers most overlarge Striders takes up the entire bottom half of the tower. It is partially recharged by the kinetic force generated as the tower moves, but requires daily infusions of magic into it's twelve separate mana batteries in order to stay fully operational. Most MWT crews contain one caster for the sole purpose of recharging it.

Propulsion

Six massive insectoid legs.

Weapons & Armament

Standard four arcane cannons, twelve ballistae. Six wizards.

Armor and defense

The towers themselves are made of Runestone, which is resistant (though not immune) to damage from siege weaponry. Oftentimes, as with the power generators, one wizard on the crew is tasked with maintaining magical defenses.

Communication Tools & Systems

The towers come equipped with a built in Mage's Decree spell, which can be used to project the voice of one crewman to everything within a few miles. This is rarely used in actual wartime though, as there is no way to exclude enemies from that spell. However, it is common for a crewman to function as a communications wizard.
