Massacre at Mathno Entheas

In the 308th year of the Second Era, Nehalenor was working on strengthening its borderlands, when a tunnel system was discovered in the Drauz Mountains. The tunnels led to the city Mathno Entheas, of the dwarven clan Torefir. The Dwarves living here knew about the war on the continent some of the dwarves who had successfully escaped from the surface came here. They assumed they had nothing to keep in the neighborhood of the two elven nations. Under pressure from the Narmiron scouts and then a delegation, they agreed, if not very enthusiastically, to close all routes to the Valley. From then on, they could only surface to the west, towards the Jungle of Zililon.
During this time, the land of Zililon turned into a single, desperate refugee camp. The Mystic elves retreating into the jungle were faced with the fact that they could not provide for all their people without upsetting the balance of Nature, and they had to be careful that the Segaii could not push further west. In this situation, the increasingly frequent appearance of hunting Dwarves, which appear from time to time in the border region, raised tempers. What exactly led to the horrible events, posterity can only guess, probably the particularly harsh winter - which also crippled the Segai army - and the reserves of the residents of the underground city played a role.
In the year 308 of 2E, at the end of the Icebringer's month, a poorly equipped but magically supported crowd stormed the unprepared city for a siege. On the first level of the three-story underground facility, the streets of workshops and shops were swept away almost without resistance. The first alarm signals could have sounded when the attackers reached the second level, the apartment buildings. The locals, mostly awakened from their slumber, still had better armor and equipment than the Mystic elves who attacked them, but they could not act effectively against the overwhelming force. According to archaeological finds and contemporary census data, up to three thousand Elves could have appeared against the four to five hundred Dwarves living here. The third, fiercest clash took place at the warehouse and mine level, where a significant part of the professional City Guards were concentrated to protect the supplies. It is visible on the walls and other surfaces that the defenders were neutralized with incredibly strong magical effects. None of the town's inhabitants likely survived the tragic event, as there is no trace of this battle in written dwarven history. The city was ransacked and looted, and the routes leading to it were blocked.
The events were first mentioned in 4E 419 by the wizard and archeologist Milarys Lowren in her book about the discoveries of the Excavations at Mathno Entheas.
