The great military reform of mohammad 13th

During the 2nd Asiri war Mohammad 13th decided to reform the imperial army. It structure was changed to a far more flexible fighting force. It limited the size of units. soldiers were given better training. Troops were no longer issued with the short spear and shield. Instead the soldiers were given scimitar swords (apart from in Castilian where they were allowed to keep their falcata swords.)

the limited arms bill was brought about during Mohammad 13th reign. before then the autonomous regions of the empire like the duchy of lostia the principality of setercha could in theory raise army's larger than the imperial one so a cap was placed on the forces of autonomous region (with the exemption of Castilian who status in the empire gave them exemption from such laws) the principality of setercha was limited to 50000 men. the same went for the duchy of lostia and the the vicroyet of montrghas vicroys guards was never allowed to exited 10000. each of these areas also had to give more men to the imperial army. while they use to take only 6000 from each region. it was increased to 10000 from each.
