Battle of Gora

fought 475YBCW it was an attempt to draw out the king and co king of the northern isles and resulted in the death of the young prince.

The Conflict

Prelude

the second phase of the 18 years war had been raging for a year. and Vasliy Hallsberg 1st had just died. his son the infant emperor Manfred had a regent in the form of his cousin Duke Michael Rastov. during a war council between him and the senior military lords of the realm Michael met the vampire Otto tragfell. the vampire was given command of the garrison in fredricksberg. he was able to destroy the northern army attacking the walls of fredricksberg. he then took the initiative and split the northern 1st and 3rd armys apart. he then proceeded to chase field marshal Vasa's 1st army to the boarder of heligoland. but his campaign had taken the best part of a year and the snows of winter forced him to stop. this out raged king Hans and he marched two new armys into the lands of the crown. Michael rastov was able to stop one army in the mud of walchindorf. Otto knew that he would have to draw his enemy out and he knew exactly how to do it. Prince Christian, CO king darians son was encamped with 5000 troops in Gora. Otto decided he needed to send a strong message to the northern kings and Christians head, would be that message. Meanwhile the 16 year old christian was resting after winning a battle against a force of 4000 imperial troops. his stores were full and the village of Gora was filled with women refugees. the Northern troops were kept happy by there presence. the 16 year old Christian however who had a wife who was with child back home was holding a war council. his force had been part of the 3rd army but after its destruction his uncle king Hans ordered him to hold Gora with its important stores. His troops were from the black kraken army his fathers personal army.

Deployment

the town was guarded by a priminter of 300 troops but these men were not on high alert.
Otto's army of 15000 was deployed on three side of the village. his 30 vampire cavalry were in reserve and would be used to rampage through the village. 3000 Frankish mercenary's of De moromanie army in exile were commanded by prince Phillipe De moromanie were on the northern flank.

The Engagement

the battle was short and bloody. Otto lead from the front changing down the centuries and then using torches he attacked and buried the village. the army was coughs off guard and was ruthlessly slaughtered. Prince Christian had been with his commander and had been working through the night. he grabbed his sword and rushed out to find his troops being slaughtered. Otto had already cut his way to the 16 year old princes camp which had been made in the local govoners house. Prince christian drew his sword and discarded his scabbard and charged at the vampire. the Vampire quickly parried the strike and then drove his claws into the princes chest and then beheaded the young prince with his own sword. after that the battle was mostly over. the 5000 men had been either killed or where captured. what stores that hadnt been destroyed were taken and the women were taken as well.

Outcome

Prince Christians head was sent to his father. this enraged his father as king Christian didn't have a second son meaning Christians would have been co king.

Aftermath

The resulting Fallout caused the battle of the graveyard of king in which both Hans and Darian would die.
