The Nutty Donut

The newly rebuilt bakery resides in the same plot of land as the previous one, but with a new owner and style after the war. The Nutty Donut is still family run and family owned, having passed from mother to son.

Purpose / Function

Providing delicious home style baked goods, such as cookies; cakes; pastries and puddings.

Architecture

With typical Rune Keepers white stone and exposed oak beams on the exterior, the pitched room is a dark shale and there are two chimneys leading into the kitchen area in the back of the building. The large wide windows allow the small sit-in area of the bakery to get lots of light and gives an excellently tantalising view of the many cakes and baked goods on sale on the counters.   The interior is clean and spacious, white tile walls decorated with paintings of cakes and baked goods. The counters are a subtle minty green tone with accents of gold and silver metal. The floor is a traditional black and white harlequin tile, and the minimal sit-in area has comfortable chairs and small round tables with white table clothes.

History

The Nutty Donut was previously known as the Pastry Dip before the war and was unfortunately demolished when a slain dragon landed on the front of house, killing one of the occupants.   In the aftermath of the war's conclusion, the remaining occupants, including the new owner Theren Hawthorne, took an agonising length of time to decide what they wanted to do, if they would re-open or if the tragedy of loss would keep the doors shut.   It was eventually decided that the business would go through a rebranding and pass into Theren's hands going forward, and now under new management the Nutty Donut is once again open for business.
