Hearthkeepers' Nook

The Hearthkeepers' Nook is a comfortable and homely establishment constructed almost as soon as the Kasarian occupation of Tor Uviel ended.
Owned by the affable and friendly Anders Warmwater and his husband, Ostran, the customers never go without and always have more than enough to keep them going for an evening of joy and contentment.

Purpose / Function

To ensure the comfort, happiness and contentment to those passing through and to spread the joy of community.

Architecture

From the outside it looks humble, cheerful and homey; the stone is a slightly more greyish tone with thick oak beams making up the majority of the exterior. While it is near impossible to see through the large stained glass windows, the happiness and joy from within can be felt from outside, and proves to be an alluring enticement to go inside.
Inside the building is a cosy almost cottage feel with plush knitted rugs and squishy armchairs in shades of warm natural tones, with more vivid cushions and throws for accent colours. Two large fireplaces are located at either ends of the large rectangular room with a bar against the far wall. A mixture of furnishings for both the long and short legged is integrated in a way that doesn't keep both sorts of customers apart but instead welcomes them to sit together and integrate.
A chalkboard sits on the wall behind the bar with a menu listing which seems to change on a weekly basis, not only offering a good supply of drinks but also homemade foods such as fruit; meat or vegetable pies; chips and fresh fish and much more.
The flooring throughout the establishment is a hardwood in a variegated dark wood tone, which matches the wooden accents of the windows; bar and wooden furniture.

History

The Hearthkeepers' Nook was opened by Anders Warmwater during the ongoing conflict of the Kasarian War, he and his husband arrived in Tor Uviel just a few days after the city was retaken and immediately set to work setting up shop and helping the wounded and weary. In the weeks and months since then, it has become a popular establishment due to the friendly demeanour of the owners and the comfortable aura of the business.
