Eldritch Magic

The magic cast by those mages who learn the power of the Eldritch are considered formidable - they peel back the good in any creature and find a way to reveal the evil of the person or animal.
* A formidable character is someone that is impressive, powerful, and intense - inspires fear and respect.
The control of Dragons has only very been done by a mage who knew Eldritch Magic. Also, these mages can learn Void Hand - summon a swirl of force from The Plane of Void.
The artifacts, charms and bloodrunes that are made with Eldritch Magic cannot be destroyed. Anyone who uses them, even unwittingly, will be corrupted - drawing out their evil nature (no matter how small or deeply hidden).

THE STUDY OF THE ELDRITCH

Eldritch, which means uncanny, unearthly, and weird in a supernatural way. A story full of ghosts and strange monsters is full of eldritch elements.

The Eldritch Abomination is a type of creature defined by its disregard for the natural laws of the universe as we understand them. They are grotesque mockeries of reality beyond comprehension whose disturbing otherness cannot be encompassed in any mortal tongue.

The power of these beings can greatly vary. Sharran is one of the most powerful. Some of which can be defeated by mortals, usually via a special weapon specifically meant to kill them - some of the Elder Evils are considered to be more powerful than gods.

Those who use magic derived from Elder Evils and other Eldritch entities need to gain the power to use Eldritch Magic - one of the Types of Magic, that is derived from Eldritch Abominations.

The Eldritch Order

In the settlement of Elder, there are still an Order of mages, wearing dark grey hooded robes, that study the dark magic of the Eldritch Magic and the Elder Evils from the Elder Days. The runes on their wrists are bloodrune tattoos - "The Flayed": a design like an eye with lines spreading from the centre. Their influence is hidden in some of the dark secrets and unspoken pacts throughout Esau.
