Aquaycia
The City of the Umizu that resides in the Sea of Sharks. It is an orderly place where every inhabitant has to know its place and obey the laws that are created by the rulings mages. At the beginning of time it was founded by the merfolk who had descended from a Kraken who swam in the waters. It has since disappeared but its descendants are the ruling council of mages. Every year, they organize a tribute to be put into the "Maw of the Kraken" a portal with an unknown destination.
The Speaker of the Kraken is a merfolk who has been around since the beginning, seemingly immortal. It is said that he speaks to the Kraken using his magic and he uses this to influence the society.
Those that go against the society and against the mages are exiled to Exile Seamont in a ritual that has become known as "The Flushing" by the younger merfolk. The mages use their magic to forcefully propel the exile down the Rushing River until they reach Vortex Lake .
Demographics
The majority of the population is made up of Umizu, most of whom are laborers. The ruling caste is the wizards who govern the city with the leaders being the Six High Masters.
5th Century: The umizu had begun letting other underwater races into city to trade. While this was considered a profitable venture for some, others considered the flesh eating umizu to dangerous to trade with.
