Aion

Not much is known about Aion, the first Celestial. Before her ascension, she had no close friends and family and after she took the mantle of the Lady of the Cycle, she completely seperated herself from mortal life, only having a few friends among the immortals. As the first Celestial she ruled nearly uncontested in her dominion, possibly having the chance to conquer all of Creation. But Aion never thirsted for power and began to faithfully serve the Cycle and its balance. Another factor for Aion's passivity was her knowledge of her own death that came with her dominion of the Cycle. So instead of waging senseless wars to build an empire that would inevitable fall after her death, she decide to use the rest of her life to seek for a suitable successor.

After millenia of search among the immortals, she realized that those who would accept the mantle only did so out of their thirst for power and not to preserve the Cycle. Desperate and without another choice she sought council from her few true friends. They proposed a simple solution: Instead of searching for a successor among those who already went too far on the path for power, she should search for someone untainted, in other words: A mortal. But not as a god but as one of them. And so Aion sealed most of her powers and entered a seemingless endless cylce of resurrections to finally accomplish her goal.

After countless years, Aion was at least satisfied and returned with her new protégé. With most of her powers sealed while living her mortal lives, Aion was suprised by the changes in the immortal landscape after her return: More and more Celestials had emerged during her absence and had begun a war against the other immortals for supremacy. Slowly but steadily the war began to affect mortals all over Creation, threatening the Cycle and balance Aion worked hard to preserve. With the end of her life nearing, Aion saw no other way but taking a more than active role in the war and with the assistance of the eldest Celestial, the other immortals easily supressed the newborn ones nearly killing them all.

In the end what saved the Celestials was the one who nearly ensured their downfall: Aion proposed the creation of the Cronian Convention. Together with the power of several Celstials and the sacrifice of her own Chaos Fragment it was successfully written and having the choice between submssion and eternal death most Celestials choose to abide by the cntract.

Having sacrifced the source of her power, Aion began to die and used the few remaining years of her life to finally raise her successor. Now not to become the Lord of the Cycle but to become the Cronian Guardian. After imparting all her wisdom to the young man, Aion's soul did not disappear but was laid to rest in the Eternal Rest.
