FIrst Celestial War

The Conflict

Prelude

While the first Celestial didn't strive for only power and was easily accepted into the vast ranks of immortals, those who followed began to be consumed by their thirst for power until they were twisted enough to declare war on everything but themselve. The leading cause for this was probaly Consuming Star, a charismatic and powerful Celestial who created the Supreme Rulers.

Deployment

Celestials and their opponents used mortal armies in countless planes and worlds to weaken the influence of their counterpart. The longer the war went the more often it came to conflicts between immortals ranging from duels to one-sided slaughters. No species was excluded from the schemes of the immortals and no weapon was too nefarious to be used.

Aftermath

When the war ended between the immortals, it didn't mean the end for conflict on the mortal side. It needed centuries more to reduce mortal conflict to the level it was before the war. Additionally the massive fall of immortals during the war lead to a disruption of the cosmic balance and the slow extinction of whole civilizations.
For the Celestials, the most important result of the war was their greatest source of shame: The Cronian Convention, that limits their interference with non-immortals greatly in hopes of preventing a recurrence of this colossal war.

Historical Significance

Legacy

Even aeons later, Celestials are bound by the Cronian Convention and scron ther predecessors for it. Not for the war itself but for their loss in it. While they are still many conflicts between immortals, most mortals thankfully never had to experience the cruelty of twisted Celestials. The few remaining entities from the Immortal Resistance never forget the horrors and mercilessly hunt everyone trying to escape the clutches of the Cronian Convention.

Technological Advancement

At the end of the war, the Cronian Convention marked the beginning of one of the most important mystical technologies throughout the Era of Order: Mystic Contracts capable of truly binding a being to its terms by borrowing a small part of the convention's power. During the war there were many technologies found and lost, too many to count them all and some to terrifying to ever be rediscovered again.
