The Common Tongue

The common language of Ettrea, spoken by most Humans and Halflings as their mother tongue. It is also spoken by Elves , Dwarves and Gnomes.
The common tongue is descended from the languages spoken by men before they entered Ettrea. Outside of Ettrea, the common tongue can be heard in Viltland, Vesterland and Wendar.
The men of Pak Dhuul speak an unrelated language, Dhuulin.

Irilian is a dialect of Common spoken in the Iril Valley in Sigsland. Other dialects of Common include Synoppeian , Zabradan , Latican and Frincian. Zabradan is spoken in the southwestern corner of Ettrea. Latican is spoken all along the Celestial Sea coast of Ettrea from the Kingdom of Savinn in the west to the border with the Synoppeian Empire in the east. Frincian is spoken in the lands northwest of the Great Vale.
