Siyyûtin

The Siyyûtin Monarchy, also simply Siyyûtin, is a nation located at the south of the eastern continent, on the edge of the Meyr Sea

Aside from the capital of Absard located North, other major cities include Rezveh and Detos, slightly lower on the north-west coast. Deep into the irradiated desert are rumored to stand, still today, the ruins of the ancient capital Heliopolis, guarded by Al-Baqiya...

Since over half of the territory is made up of an inhospitable desert where unpredictable phenomenons can be found, Siyyûn people have naturally become very peaceful and close-knit.

Previously a very fertile land, after the Gargantua Catastrophe and the subsequent irradiation of the desert, they have lost most of their trading power and connections with the democracy of Maistîa. Their main export is now primarily gold, which can be found in large quantities, although a large part of the profit they make is sent to the kingdom of Mêmkimi'och in order to maintain the peace.

Government

The Siyyûn government is, simply put, ruled by those of great accumulated wealth. It is actually a little bit more complex, as not anyone of sufficient wealth can pretend to have a say in governing. Only those who have enough to sustain themselves and their families for two years can have this right. Of course, in cases of inflation, the governmental order could shift, but as the divide between the ruling individuals and common folks is de facto large already, such chaos is actually quite unlikely.

In the sense that position in society is directly based on one's wealth and there is no choosing of a representative or leader, the richer someone is, the more power they wield, it is therefore a monarchy. Furthermore, income is irrelevant in calculating wealth, only inactive funds are illegible.

Fashion and society

Even in the city, it is customary to cover oneself and show as little skin as possible, although in the northernmost villages it's an accepted exception to uncover a little more. This custom is tied not only to the extreme heat, but also to numerous myths of face-stealers.

Colours commonly found, especially in the desert and its surrounding areas, include gray, beige as well as red and dull blue. Black is an uncommon colour to wear aside from during funerary ceremonies.

As gold is the main export of this nation, it's almost always found decorating clothes or serving as jewelry. Some other commonly used stones are rubies, sapphires, amethysts and quartz.

Although they are actively avoiding a war breakout with Mêmkimi'och, Siyyûn people are great opponents when armed with spears or bows, the elite leaning towards short curved swords.
