Ylixa (Ill-ix-ah, similar to 'Elixir')

(a.k.a. Acid)

Ylixa is an aspect of Raegeric and a physical aspect. It revolves around acids, enzymes, catalysts and various energy producing chemical reactions, including those within living organisms. This aspect of Ylixa occurs on microscopic levels and plays vital roles in the bodies of organisms. Accians have a poor understanding of this aspect, mostly consigning it to simple acid. It also has a direct, opposing but also heavily interactive relationship to its counterpart Torith. Torith encompasses toxins, poisons and enzyme inhibitors. Both play opposing roles within an organism and Torith mostly functions by attacking the processes Ylixa plays a role in within a body. However, Raegeric is impartial to this, their role simply that of the chemical reactions themselves, not the intricate way living cells utilize Ylixa to function. Ylixa is the material catalyst and energy produced by these reactions as they interact with substrates. And of course, these kinds of reactions are not limited to the cells of organisms, occurring in nature as well.

Racial Manifestations

When Raegeric gifted all lifeforms with their magic, each life form was capable of receiving two gifts. Each of these blessings would grant the lifeform a connection to a specific aspect and this connection could be utilized in a given way. These gifts were passed down to their descendants as well and eventually beings came to call these gifts Racial Magic. These are named by the aspect a caster is connected to and by how they can use it, how they manifest their connection.

Manipulation

Able to manipulate acids and enzymes present in their environment.

Aura

Able to summon or generate a type of acid or enzyme.

Movement

Able to walk, step or move on or through acids or enzymes.

Slip

Able to allow their body to interact with physical matter similarly to a kind of acid or enzyme, the material will also be affected as if by that acid/enzyme.

Eye

Able to see acids/enzymes present around them, large or microscopic, and can tell both their kind and properties.

Sense

Able to feel their environment using acids/enzymes, feel anything interacting with these materials and sense what kinds of acids/enzymes are in their environment despite barriers.

Skin

Can produce a kind of acid or enzyme from their skin, building up layers and expanding this mineral around themselves in different shapes or even lace them into their sweat.

Touch

Can afflict someone with a kind of acid or enzyme via touch, eating away at their flesh. The longer this touch lasts the more acid is imparted and spread.

Charge

Can store up acids, enzymes or energy from chemical reactions inside their bodies without limit. They can convert this to magic energy, transfer the energy to another or re-release it like an aura.

Craft

Able to craft new, unique acids or enzymes with varying properties/effects.

Venom

They can afflict a given acid or enzyme via bite or scratch, injecting it like as a venom.

Blood

An acid or enzyme runs through their blood.

Diet

Can consume acids or enzymes for sustenance or to replenish magic.

Blade

Can generate blades of made of acid from their body or as bladed weapons.

Breath

Can exhale an acidic cloud or steam.

Shield

Immune to negative effects and/or damage from all acid magic and naturally occurring acids/enzymes.

Vision

Able to enter a meditative state in which the caster can explore and peek through portals or windows within Ylixa's Plane.

Step

Can enter and exit Ylixa's Plane via portals and travel the plane freely, without injury. Can bring another with them while maintaining contact.

Form

Can convert parts of their body into an acid or has this acid incorporated into their form.

Body

Can convert entire body into any acid or enzyme and merge with or travel along other acids.
