Rithaldis
the Radiant
Rithaldis is the embodiment of the sun and radiance! She is an aspect of Lithmor, the Erlithmanil of Light, a physical aspect which exists within Rithaldis' Plane. She embodies sunlight and radiation including solar plasma, photons, sunlight and ionizing radiation. However, this aspect revolves around radiant energy or ionization these lights may produce and not the visible light itself. Those fall instead under Kalitho. Rithaldis is the counterpart of Vokda, aspect of Zalikar and emebodiment of void. |
Kaithur |
During the Era of Legends, the Erlithmanil blessed residents of Emynea with their magic. Passed down from parent to child, they came to call these gifts Kaithur. Over time, every lifeform on Emynea came to inherit two of these blessings. Kaithur are named by the aspect a caster is connected to and by how they can wield it--how they manifest their connection.
Solar magic is somewhat common in Emynea but is most concentrated in the Shamsi Desert and some surrounding areas. Solar magic can be incredibly potent but most casters wield gentler effects such as sunlight, more powerful magic constrained to inhabitants of Shamsi. Regardless of region, those born with solar magic will develop certain personality quirks or tendencies matching Rithaldis herself! |

Those born with Rithaldis' Manipulation are able to controland reshape sunlight, solar plasma and radiation present in their environment. This can be used to strengthen or redirect sunlight onto crops, repel harmful radiation or extract radioactive contamination from tainted materials! They are also able to perceive ordinarily invisible radiation in their environment! |
Casters of ' Aura are able to generate solar magic in a variety of ways, summoning sunlight, plasma and radiation at will! They are also immune to damage from these forces but anything they summon disappears when they cease casting. |

Those with Rithaldis' Movement are able to walk, step or move on sunlight and radiation which become a solid foothold for them. They can also briefly transform into these forces, travel at the speed of light or merge with sunlight in their environment before reverting back. Sometimes, this allows them to pass through certain materials which radiation or light can pass through! |
When activated, their body of those with Rithaldis' Slip will automatically transform into sunlight, solar plasma or radiation when touched, interacting with physical mattter similarly to this substance. Most materials pass right through them for those converting into sunlight while those turned into solar plasma burn everything they touch! Their body will immediately transform back once the foreign object has been removed, this transformation automatic. They can also pass through objects which sunlight or radiation can pass through such as glass! |

They can see everything being touched by these forces as though viewing from the sun itself and they can also perceive ordinarily invisible radiation in their environment! They can even stare into the sun without hurting their eyes. |
Casters with Rithaldis' Sense are able to feel their environment using sunlight and radiation, feel anything interacting with these energies and sense radiation in their environment despite barriers. They are also immune to damage from these forces, magical or natural. |

Coming into contact with them can potentially impart radiation sickness while those conjuring sunlight are a boon to plants, capable of nourishing these species in any environment They are also immune to damage from solar magic and natural forces. |
Rithaldis' enables a caster to afflict radiation poisoning by touch! The longer they maintain contact, the more potent the dose of radiation. Doses of radiation inflicted by Touch casters are extreme. |

Casters with Rithaldis' Will can boost or enhance the magic of others by using sunlight or radiation as a bridge! They cast their magic into these forces, boosting their magic upon contact. |

They cannot store this energy away but many plants and animals are able to survive desolate environments, sustained only by sunlight or radiation. Those few inheriting Rithaldis' Rebirth can absorb strong sources of sunlight, solar plasma or radiation in order to heal themselves. This is a much stronger ability than Diet, capable of bringing the caster back from the brink of death! Lost limbs, critical injuries, damaged organs--injuries which would ordinarily become fatal fade away as the caster absorbs their element. However, the degree of healing is reliant on the strength of their source, some of these casters even extending the span of their life! |

A caster with Rithaldis' Blade can summon or craft blades consisting of intense photons or solar plasma, emerging from their body like quills or as bladed weapons wielded by hand. Essentially they can create radioactive plasma blades capable of searing enemies, melting defenses and inflicting acute radiation burns! Some can even craft alternate bladed weapons of their own imagining! |
Rithaldis' Shield renders casters immune to all solar magic, unbothered by negative effects or damage from all kinds of solar forces. They are guarded from intense sunlight and sunburns, radiation sickness and corrosion and even from the hazards of solar plasma whether these are natural or magical.

Casters inheriting Rithaldis' Venom can afflict radiation poisoning via bite or scratch, injecting it like a venom. This dose of radiation is incredibly potent, several times more powerful to kill most targets. |

Casters inheriting Rithaldis' Pull can draw sunlight and radiation towards themselves, pulling it from their environment like a magnet. They can even control the strength of this pull or focus it on a single target. They are even immune to damage from solar forces! |

Casters with Rithaldis' Step can enter and exit Rithaldis' Plane via portals and travel the plane freely, without injury or impediment. They can also bring others with them while maintaining contact. Portals into the color plane are instances of strong sunbeams or sunlight, masses of solar plasma and highly irradiated places or objects! |

Casters born with Rithaldis' Form can convert parts of their body into sunlight, solar plasma or radiation or they have these forces incorporated into their magic form. Their limbs or hair or whatever else transforms into these radiant energies, materials passing through them harmlessly or interacting with them as sunlight would such as burning or irradiation. Other casters may gain a shroud, wings, cloak or armor of solar mist! Each individual looks a little different. |
Those born with the rare ability Rithaldis' Body can convert their entire body into radiant light. Considered the ultimate manifestation of solar magic, these casters gain abilities similar to those with Aura, Eye, Movement, Slip and Shield! Even beyond their transformation, these casters can fully merge with bright sunlight, solar plasma and ionizing radiation, leaving their human shape behind and travelling at the speed of light before reforming elsewhere. However, these abilites quickly eat up energy and those who aren't Divine Descendant may not be able to use all of these abilities. |
Appearance |
As the embodiment of the sun, Rithaldis' natural form is similar to the makeup of the sun itself--a combination of solar plasma, sunlight and radiation. But she is also capable of taking on a human form, useful when appearing before mortals who cannot withstand her intensity. After all, she emanates unimaginable heat, light and energy up close. Like Lithmor, she prefers the appearance of an Alkelbulian woman but might adapt her appearance depending on where she appears across Emynea--after all she is one of the most widely worshipped entities in the world! |
When in human form, she usually has a puffy white afro which glows like the sun itself while her skin is either a warm, golden orange or a contrasting rich ebony. Rithaldis appears motherly and welcoming but also radiant and aloof. She is an element of incredible power, a power beyond Emynea itself, and this power is evident for anyone to see! More times than not, she remains gargantuan in size, peering down over mortals with a warm smile. |
Abilities |
Rithaldis is the expression of sun and radiance within the real world. All radiance is a part of her, an extension of her and her power--the sun itself is her beating heart! She can freely manipulate and utilize sunlight as if commanding her own limbs. However, without a physical body she is unable to enter and fully affect the physical world. While she has total control over her elemental plane, there is only so much she can affect in the physical world and she cannot leave her plane. Despite this, she can still view the world anywhere with strong sunlight and all solar magic still pulls from her as their source. |
Qualities of Radiance
On a small scale, radiant energy can be nurturing, warm and beneficial--it supports most life on the planet in the form of rays of sunlight. However, in larger intensities, it can be extremely dangerous. It can cause burns, cancer or even radiation poisoning! When concentrated, the photons this aspect produces superheats the surrounding gases, producing plasma or even miniature suns. While the void of space is the domain of Vokda and Zalikar, the sun is the domain of Rithaldis and Lithmor.
When referring to radiation, it is much like void in that this force is invisible to those not blessed with the ability to perceive it. The energy of Rithaldis is also able to penetrate and bypass many kinds of defenses, including the void shields of Vokda! Many of those who are blessed by Rithaldis are able to see these energies as a pure white mist or material. The more of this energy that is present, the more solid the energy appears. |
