Felryth
Felryth is an aspect of Zalikar and is the embodiment of fear, anxiety, worry, doubt and nightmares. He is considered a mental aspect and exists within Felryth's Plane. He is literal fear—a lack of hope. In general, Felryth deals with negative imagination or a loss of aspiration as opposed to its counterpart Rylmar who deals with positive imagination and hope. |
Kaithur |
During the Era of Legends, the Erlithmanil gifted residents of Emynea with their magic. Over time, every lifeform on Emynea came to inherit two of these blessings. Passed down from parent to child genetically, they came to call these gifts Kaithur. Kaithur are named by the aspect a caster is connected to and by how they can use it--how they manifest their connection. Fear magic is somewhat rare since Zalikar's Vengeance, most casters centered in and near the Tenebrous Chain. These casters hold a powerful sway over those who would oppose them, inciting or bending them to their will with their greatest fears, insecurities and nightmares, at times even bringing them to life! Casters will also develop one or more personality quirks or tendencies of Siptalis himself as a side effect of their connection to him. |

Felryth's Eye can see emotions, thoughts and states related to Felryth as an aura or greenish color around targets. They can also learn details by staring into a target's eyes. |

Felryth's Diet can absorb and consume fear, terror and anxiety, using it to replenish magic energy, to heal or as sustanance! They can even consume nightmares and are immune to other fear magic, absorbing it instead. |
If the caster of Felryth's Will can incite emotions related to Felryth in a target, they can inhance and empower their magic! Making an unsettling, horrific comment or causing someone to flinch or cower, making them recall a something that scares them, instilling anxiety or apprehension, any and all of these can dramatically amplify other casters' magic! |
Mind | Vision |
Those with Felryth's Mind are able to enter a meditative state, mentally entering a target's Mind Space and leaving their body behind. They can experience thoughts, emotions and even memories stored here which are connected to Felryth but cannot access the rest of the target's mind space. |
Casters with Felryth's Vision are able to enter a meditative state in which the caster can mentally explore Felryth's Plane. Unlike Mind Casters, they cannot enter Mind Spaces, only peeking inside as though through a window or in a reflection! |
Empathy | Apathy |
Felryth's Empathy can enable targets to experience or share each other's emotions, thoughts and memories related to Felryth. Casters can even project their own emotions of fear and anxiety onto a target or share nightmares with sleeping targets. |
Those with Felryth's Apathy are able to block a target from being able to feel fear, anxiety or terror! They can also restrict themselves from feeling these emotions for a time. On a smaller scale they can simply muffle these emotions instead.

Casters with Felryth's Shield are immune to all fear magic and can turn off their own ability to experience these emotions and memories. | Those with Felryth's Touch are able to inflict strong feelings of terror, fright or worry by touch. |
Binding | Step |
Casters with Felryth's Binding are able to bind specific emotions, thoughts or memories related to Felryth and restrict a target's access to them. Only the caster can remove the binding. | Felryth's Step allows the caster to physically enter Felryth's Plane, using someone experiencing fear or anxiety as a portal. They can explore and traverse the plane or enter mental spaces connected to the plane. However, physically exploring someone else's mind can be extremely dangerous! |
Appearance |
As an aspect of Zalikar, Felryth resembles him quite a bit. He can and will take on the form of an observer's greatest fears but otherwise his favorite form is one he believes best represents the way fear grips it's victims. This form has innumerable arms and no legs, dragging itself along the ground. Its body is emaciated and necrotic, skin blackened and withered like a corpse. It breaks and snaps it's bones with every movement making a terrible, dry snap and it moves with unnatural, skittering motions. Finally, when one gets close enough they will notice it's loose, leathery skin wriggles as seeming fingers claw and cloy from underneath as if to escape. |
For less dramatic settings, where he rarely doesn't wish to frighten onlookers, he takes a far more humanesque shape. In this form he is thin and gaunt with fine, sharp features. In fact he is emaciated, often resembling a corpse! Even amid his brothers, he adores heavy metal music the most which often affects his appearance! |
Abilities |
Felryth is the embodiment of and mental expression of fear, anxiety, worry, terror and nightmares. All fear is a part of him, an extension of him and his power, Felryth capable of sensing, seeing or otherwise perceiving these emotions all around him. He can freely manipulate, inflict or relieve these emotions and memories as if commanding his own limbs, parsing through the memories of any individual connected to his plane simply by directing his attention to them. Finally, like many mental aspects, Felryth is able to feed off of these emotions as they occur, each emotion and individual having their own unique flavor.
As a mental aspect, he is unable to enter the physical world, existing only within the minds of Emyneans and within his plane. He can enter nightmares and even the minds of anyone experiencing his emotions strongly--in fact he has even been known to plague those cursed by Zalikar! He can only view the world through the minds and memories connected to his plane and all fear magic still pulls from him as their source. |
Personality |
Aspects are pieces of the whole mind of their element and so Azowyr embodies a piece of Zalikar. Felryth has an over overwhelming and extremely intimidating presence, easily striking fear even without his magic. He is intense, bold, rash and doesn't mince words. He also takes immense joy in provoking surprise and terror in people, feeling he can instantly learn the true nature of someone beneath their facades and posturing by their reaction when thrown off guard. He is very pessimistic and cynical by nature, much of Zalikar's distrust and lack of faith in people resting in this aspect. He tends to expect the worst in people, privy to their worst fears, worries and imaginings. These are always his first impression of everyone he meets, heavily painting how he views them. Simultaneously, he knows there a number of people who show their best qualities and best selves when fear pushes them beyond their boundaries. Who rise to the occasion and put others before themselves. He sees his power as an almost purifying force which sifts the noble from the selfish. |
Despite his current confidence and overwhelming presence, when Zalikar was younger he was incredibly fearful and anxious. Easily startled and always assuming the worst. He felt and continues to experience these emotions more powerfully than anyone else and it is part of what he believes makes him so strong now. Felryth is still very prone to overthinking and fretting about every detail, imagining the worst that can happen until he has divined the best path forward. He also still empathizes and sympathizes heavily with the fearful and anxious, having a soft spot for them. He trusts in that softness as an indicator of a kind soul. It is in the weak he trusts and the strong he suspects.
He pushes people with his magic to strengthen them as pushing past his fears strengthened him. He enjoys putting power into the hands of those who have proven themselves to him. And he enjoys crushing the corrupt and selfish with that same power, enjoys exposing their true weakness. And he knows how to manipulate and motivate these individuals using their fear. |
