Terpischore Gelgis

Terpischore Gelgis, also known as the Jester Prince, was one of the Trusty Companions of the Hero-Emperor John Darren I and played a pivotal role in sealing the Breach. Known as a trickster and a thief, Terpischore was a key adviser to John, counterbalancing the stout and strict Marie-Louise Reimdal. Terpischore was said to bring levity and laughs to even the dourest of situations and always knew how to perk up the mood with a light jest or rousing song. Not only were they an accomplished duelist with the rapier, but they were also a prodigious composer and choreographer. Terpischore's collected works are known as The Terpiscore (they did love their puns) and is held as the golden standard for dance and song in Emdar.   When the Emdarian Empire was established, Terpischore, formerly a commoner, was elvated to nobility, establishing House Gelgis.  Terpischore never fostered any descendants of their own, so it would be the children of their brothers and sisters that would continue the Gelgis family line. They would go to rule the Gellar region from their seat of Mirthall on Pearl Island for generations to come.   Current-day Roam Gelgis and his son Roam Sebastian von Darren-Gelgis are direct descendants of Terpischore's siblings.
