Samonian Kingdom
From the Silver Keep in its capital city of Olassa, the Saomnian Kingdom has been ruled by the Pateras dynasty since it was founded around 676 AR. Situated on Lake Paratela in central New Elysium, Olassa's ease of access to the Silver Spine Mountains allowed the Pateras family to amass a great deal of wealth that they then used to easily secure the local area.
Samonia is currently ruled by King Yannis Pateras who spends most of his days engaged in the ever evolving drama that Olassan nobility finds themselves perpetually locked in. So long as his numerous vassals pay their taxes, King Pateras pays little mind to what happens outside the capital city. This indifference has led to a rather sharp rise in corruption across the kingdom as many nobles, lords, and high-ranking officials do what they can to line their own pockets. The general prosperity of the surrounding lands has fallen as crime and corruption has increased, creating unrest throughout the kingdom.
History
Sometime shortly after Aeneasia had been establish, a group of colonists left to find their own fortunes and eventually settled the lands where the city of Olassa now stands. With relatively easy access to a long stretch of the Silver Spine Mountains and with easy access to sea, it appeared to be an ideal location to expand. The city of Olassa experienced a fairly long period of steady success as it developed over several centuries, becoming more and more powerful. Even many of the peasantry experienced periods of fairly strong success and prosperity. However it was around 670 AR that one of the Kingsguard by the name of Paratela Pateras carried out a successful coup against the king and managed to take the throne. After a brutal civil war that lasted around 6 years, Paratela Pateras crowned himself king and formed the Kingdom of Samonia. A cunning individual, King Pateras would soon lead Samonia to became the center for trade in the entire region and commanded a great deal of wealth, primarily due to the resource rich mines it had managed to find along the Silver Spine mountains. It isn't quite known how, but King Pateras managed to seal the inevitability of his dynasty by codifying into the Legacy itself who would be allowed to ascend to the throne and claim the crown. So long as a member of his dynasty lived, none could claim the throne or else grave misfortune would fall upon the land. Since then the Pateras dynasty has had an unbroken rule over the Kingdom of Samonia.Government
The province of Samonia is headed by the King elected by a council of sorcerer's from the local Fractal of Light temple. After a King's death, the council gathers to determine if the title is to be inherited by a blood heir, or if a new dynasty is to be selected. However due to ancient legacy workings, this council is bound to pick a living blood heir of the Pateras line. After a series of reforms an elected parliament was formed, they are elected by all landowning commoners in the province. The parliament is quite weak in its ability to counteract the desires of King Pateras, however his neglect and short attention span has allowed the parliament to secure a recent set of wins further solidifying its place in the Kingdom.Problems

- Several bandit raids have occured on trade routes and local lords have done little to stop it
- Weird rumors have started to appear talking about strange figures being sighted in the Pisydon Forest
