The most expensive secret of the oatman hat

The oatman band is a carefully constructed magic item that can only be worn as the adjustable band on an absolutely unmagical oatman hat. It never has more than one enchantment.

Examples of oatman bands currently in use:

• comfy oatman band: Endure Elements

• (critter modeled on tiny concho) oatman band: Locate Object (subspecies depicted on attached concho only)
• water-finder oatman band: Locate Object (water only) (band has a water mark embedded throughout)

Additionally, the oatman band's enchantment has two universal effects: it will not function if any other magic item is attached to the oatman hat or congruently touching it or within five millimeters of it (dangly earrings are okay if the wearer tucks their hat cord up around the brim and band, in which case the hat is no longer secure). Also, it will reject any attempt to cast temporary or permanent magic effects on the hat to which the hatband is affixed.
