Nirimerela Mura

Duchess Nirimerela Mura

This was a gala in Direfeld, a place to make new friends, new allies. To flaunt, and rub shoulders with peers. The Ares family was in attendance, it wasn't just some party at the pub. I was in attendance, basking in the revelry, strengthening my connection to the Rasilan high society. That's when I saw him. Tall, flamboyant, and with just the right amount of grimness about him. I rolled my drink, and sauntered over to introduce myself. We waxed for the better part of an hour, when he nonchalantly invited me out to the balcony. A grin took my features; "tonight's just about to get spicier" I remember thinking.
Out on the balcony, we shared hardly another word, as he pulled me close. Faster than I'd anticipated, but, who was I to complain? I felt his breath hot against my neck, and embraced him. Then, however, pain roared through my flesh, my arms and legs stiffened, resisting my impulses. When at last he moved again, his dark fur was sticky with crimson, and I felt faint. He looked me in the eyes, and without a single syllable, shoved me back. First I hit the Isbryd, and then I remember being folded in half, cracked along the spine by a jutting rock, before the river wild caught me, and washed me away.
The stars drifted above, as I floated down the rapids. I know not whether I was alive, or dead, but I remember seeing a procession of specters lining the shores, mourning my passing. It is a miracle that they didn't drag me to the depths, but... perhaps they saw something kindred in me, in that moment.
