Giorgio Hekate
Duke Giorgio Hekate Anshar (a.k.a. The Mountain King)
The Mountain King as some call him, Giorgio Hekate is the Duke of Ossentum and resides upon Ironpeak castle in Herkat. He is known for being rigid and unforgiving, brutal but fair, and a damn good general of Elliaster. To his army he is seen as a father figure and a leader that doesn't falter. To his people, he is known as a guardian. Hekate is one of the oldest nobles in the Kingdom, and that is enough to buy him respect. Yet with all the change currently happening, many view him as an old man unwilling to let the past die with him.
Duke Hekate views everything Dedrik Medois is doing with disdain, being of the opinion that magic and Ylistrium should be left to the Orthopraxy.

Tall, brawny man. Multitude of scars from past battles. Despite his age, he is in peak physical condition.

Personal history
He is a staunch traditionalist and supporter of the Orthopraxy, as is his eldest son Rickard. He fought in several occasions against Kernaros alongside Baldun II and was a young officer in Baldun I's last campaigns to put down rowdy Menshari nobles.
At the decision of King Baldun III to name Dedrik Medois his heir apparent, Giorgio fought vehemently. It was clear to many (though intuition to him) that Dedrik was using foul means to cause unrest and gain power within the Kingdom. Duke Hekate claimed the Ylistre War was engineered by Medois from the start, and that he had a pact with Kernaros to attack and further destabilize the kingdom. Suspicions or not, it came true. Dedrik managed to assault Ironpeak with his flying machines wielding Ylistrium, forcing Giorgio to surrender.
Today, the Duke of Ossentum is forced into uneasy truce, but he has decided to play the games of the First Lion. The force of Ossentum, which was enough to turn the tides of war in multiple occasions in history, was now incapable. If he wanted to overthrow Dedrik and restore order to the Kingdom, he'd have to play in the shadows.

Duke Giorgio Hekate has been Dedrik's biggest detractor ever since he showed up in the royal court. His defeat by Dedrik's hand at the siege of Herkat during the Ylistrium War has only soured the relationship further, but Giorgio has decided to be more subtle since.
