Giant chains of mountains and volcanic activity. Marshes in the valleys -- most of the marshes are thick with low-lying water that is barely a foot deep in most places. Mats of algae covers vast swatches of the deeper parts of the marsh, and thick bushes grow in the water, where most of their roots are exposed in the water with a small amount anchoring them to that location. Patches of dry land exist in random spots in the swamps, and tall tufts of grass grow on these patches of dry land. There are also plains with huge stalks of grass that grow to the north of the marshes and to the south. On the leeward side of the mountains, dryer plains exist, where the grasses grow thicker but shorter, and the trees are few and far between. The marshes mostly exist on the windward side of the mountains.
